Decoration: horizontal or vertical stripes?
I just bought patio furniture (2 sofas), and the fabric has wide stripes. The sofas were delivered with horizontal stripes, but I’d like to know if I should have ordered with vertical stripes. Are horizontal stripes a no-no when it comes to sofas?
The stripes clearly run vertically on the fabric as printed since the longer side of the cushions run horizontally, the stripes can run lengthwise indefinitely. This is the LESS expensive way to upholster with stripes. Many designers of Craftsman homes emphasize the width of rooms by concentrating on strong horizontal lines in their ceiling lines.
