How do I make a shower curtain with a window?
I love the shower curtains they have in hotels now, you know the ones that have that plastic strip about six inches down from the top and then have regular fabric above and below the strip. I’ve tried to find one at stores and online, but have only found white, black and tan.
I want to try to make my own but am concerned about sewing the plastic to the fabric (having holes, tears, etc.). If anyone has tried anything like this before I need input!!

The marketplace is full of some great finds in shower curtains if you take the time to look. You can find curtains with depictions of characters from you kids favorite Saturday cartoons as easily as you can those that are just solid and dull. There are even shower curtains that have scenes from different movies in them. At one point Star Wars was a very popular motif.
The best shower curtains are those that make an impact with subtle understatement. These give the room an air of distinction. Imagine a field of black with one giant red rose. Or a white background with a flower arrangement that incorporates a few basic colors. They lend themselves to accessories.
Online is the best place to find shower curtains with designs that will have a certain “wow” factor. It will be s simple matter to buy all the accessories to tie in with your favorite design.
Another way to make a quick make over in the boudoir is to use a floor to ceiling shower curtain. This will mean raising the rod. But the length of the shower curtain will add height and depth to the room. You can get a beautiful fabric shower curtain that ruffles at the bottom to place in front of the liner. This way if it’s inside or outside of the tub it still looks great.
The entire room will look taller and give the feeling of being in one of those grand old homes that have ceilings that are out of reach. Redecorating the bathroom does not have to stop with the shower curtain. Spice it up with paintings and wall plaques. In the spring go green make the place look like a tropical rain forest. In winter you should make the room as cozy as possible with rustic shower curtains and natural wood accessories.
Making the shower curtains come alive takes a little imagination and a little time.
